WILLIAM CECIL MCBATH, 90, of Avalon, died Friday, Jan. 15th at Stephens County Hospital.
Born in Stephens County, he was a son of the late Dr. William Lowery and Lena Mattie Cooper McBath. He attended Oglethorpe University and Emory University, worked in the Insurance business for a number of years and was a member of Confidence United Methodist Church.
Survivors include 1 daughter, Mrs. Marian McBath Murphy of Macon; 1 son, Rev. Lowery McBath of Newton, NC; 1 brother, Ralph C. McBath of Avalon and a number of grandchildren.
The funeral was at 3 p.m. Sunday at Confidence United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Lamb officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were James L. McBath, Sr., Harold Elrod, Bobby Craven, G. Whitworth, James L. McBath, Jr., and Andy Crawford.
Acree-Davis Funeral Home was in charge.
