Paul M. Bottini, 76, formerly of 1903 N. James St. passed away on Monday, November 17, 2008 in the Bethany Gardens with his loving family by his side. He was born on May 7, 1932 in Rome a son of Nicholas P. and Joanna C. Dandino Bottini. He was a 1950 graduate of RFA, attended MVCC and graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in engineering. He retired in 1989 after working for many years as a metallurgist for General Cable Corp. He served with the US Army during the Korean War. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his time at the Jervis Library. He was a member of the Galliano Club and the Rome Musical Club. Paul is survived by his beloved family; his sisters; Delores Bottini, Elizabeth Bottini and Peter Fox and Kathleen and Howie Gilbert, all of Rome, cherished nieces and nephews; Mark and Anne Bottini, Nicholas and Angela Bottini and Gary and Terri Bottini and great nieces and nephews; Nicholas R., Krista, Adam, Nichole and Nicholas P. Bottini, an aunt Norine Dandino, a special friend Anna Rose Nicotera and several cousins. He was predeceased by a brother and sister-in-law; Nicholas A. and Diane Bottini. The family would like to extend their appreciation and gratitude to Elinor Kellogg and to the staff of the Bethany Gardens. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:30 at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St. and at 10:30 at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.
