Marlene Van Coulter, 60, of Milton, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001 at her home following a seven-week battle with cancer.

She was born Jan. 20, 1941, in Janesville, the daughter of Arthur J. and Florence N. Anderson. She married Francis (Mike) Van Coulter in Whitewater on June 9, 1962. She was employed by the Milton School District for the past 26 years, enhancing the lives of thousands of children.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Mike, a son, Michael (Barri) Van Coulter of Crystal Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Michele (Tom) Morin of Salt Lake City, UT and Lisa Schroeder of Milton; her grandchildren: Michael Ryan Van Coulter, Hanah and Blake Morin and Whitney and Alex Schroeder, an anticipated sixth grandchild, a daughter born to Michael and Barri; her mother, Florence Anderson of Milton; brothers and sisters including: Gary (Carole) Anderson, Kay (Bruce) Kenyon, David (Nancy) Anderson and Betty (Pete) Reed; nephews and nieces Holly Anderson, Chad, Troy and Lance Kenyon, Brent and Elliot Anderson, Ryan Heise, Rachel Aaron, Mark and Michael Reed. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur J. Anderson; a sister, Kathleen; and a nephew, Mark Anderson.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Hope Lutheran Church. Burial was in the Milton Junction Cemetery.
