"My great grandfather was Henry Wise Hawley. He founded Los Angeles Rock and Gravel in About 1910.... I wrote about him in my book, Before We Say "Goodnight."

Los Angeles Rock and Gravel is still there but in now rental property.

He was born in Deseret Utah and elected sheriff of Millard County for two terms. He moved to Seatle where he started in the construction business and then to Los Angeles."
