Joseph L. "Skeet" Young, 67, of Kahoka passed away Friday, April 6, 1979 at 2:50am at the Ellis-Fischel Hospital in Columbia, MO

The sone of John E. and Anna M. Watkins Young, he was born at Kirkwood, Illinois on Nov 1, 1911.

He married Ava Roberta Barwick at Kahoka on Jan 27, 1946. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons: Joseph L. Young of Kahoka; Alvin E. of Montrose, IA; and Larry R. of Kahoka; four daughters: Mrs. Wanda R. Davis, Mrs. Jeanette K. Zinnert, Leona F. Young and Mrs. Vera L. York, all of Kahoka; four brothers: Victor Young of Kahoka; Chester and Ernest both of Keokuk, IA; and Floyd of Wayland; 11 grandchildren and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, four sisters and one half-sister.

Mr. Young was a member of the Kahoka Baptist Church, a World War II veteran, and had worked at Hubinger Company at Keokuk, IA from 1948 until his retirement in 1977.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 9, 1979 at 2:30pm at the First Baptist Church of Kahoka with Brother Bill Hauser and Brother Darrell Davis officiating. Burial was in the Kahoka Cemetery.

Organist was Alice Heinze; singers, Mary Mitchell and Linda Davis. Pallbearers were Dale Satterly, Glenn Moore, Vernon Swift, Daryll Calvert, Richard Malone and Louis Greenslow.
