Floyd P. Young, 78 of Kahoka, Missouri passed away on Monday, August 7, 1995 at3:45 p.m. at Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Illinois.
The son of John Edward and Anna Marie Derman Young he was born on February 8, 1917, at Kahoka, Missouri.
He was united in marriage to Meleese "Mel" Bishop on January 23, 1934 at Kahoka, Missouri and she survives.
Also surviving are two daughters; Evelyn Brammer and her husband Jess of Monroe City, Missouri and Patricia Buehl and her husband Harold of Davenport, Iowa, a daughter-in-law, Jacque Young, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, seven grandchildren; Larry Brammer and his wife Laura, Roy and James Brammer all of Davenport, Iowa, Ronda Flores, Sioux City, Iowa, Clarence and Troy Buehl, Davenport, Iowa, and Kimberly Smith, Davenport, Iowa. Seven Great-grandchildren: Nichole and William Brammer and Zachary and Lena Smith all of Davenport, Iowa, Lawren and Laynie and Katie Buehl, Clinton, Iowa, two brothers, Ernest Young, Keokuk, Iowa, Chester Young, St. Cloud, Minnesota, nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, three sisters, a twin brother, Lloyd James, and a son John E. Young who passed away on August 19, 1994.
He was a WWII Veteran and was a machinist and worked for St. Louis Gear in Keokuk, Iowa before his retirement. He loved to travel and enjoyed his great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 10, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. at Shaffer-Vigen memorial chapel with Rev. Dan Deatrick officiating with burial in the Combs Cemetery, Luray, Missouri.
Visitation after 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday with the family greeting friends on Wednesday evening from 7-9 at Shaffer-Vigen Funeral Home, Kahoka, Missouri.
Memorials may be made to the choice of the donor.
Music: Organist, Tommie Dee Welker. Soloist, Janet Ramsey.
Pallbearers: Dusty Taylor, Darrell Ludwick, Troy Davis, Troy Buehl, Clarence Buehl, and Verne Stein.
