Susan F. McFarland was the daughter of Gazaway McFarland & Mary Poe. In 1855 she married first: Richmond Mack Sheppard
(Son of William and Elizabeth Sheperd). They had two daughters:

After Richmond's death in 1858 she moved back to her families' farm where she met and married Rev. Daniel Giddens in Rankin County, Mississippi on 1 Oct 1862. This union produced four children:
*Andrew J. "Drew" Giddens (b. 8 Oct. 1864)
*Annie M. Giddens (b. 17 Dec. 1866)
*Isaac Newton "Ike" Giddens (b. 11 Apr. 1869)
*Idah S. "Ida" Giddens (b. 20 Nov. 1871)
Susan was buried in the families' farm in the countryside of Hinds County.
