Allied Force Advance Press Headquarters, Italy -Private First Class William G. Chillcutt, automatic rifleman, husband of Mrs Evelyn M. Chillcutt of Milan, Tenn., and son of Obie D. Chillcutt of Memphis, and Pvt. James M Schoffner, first scout and rifleman, son of Mr and Mrs. Carr E. Battle of Byhalia, Miss., are serving with the veteran infantry that stood guard over Old Glory as it was raised at reveille in Piazza Venezia, Rome, the morning of the Fourth of July.
