A lifelong resident of Marshall County, Emery was a farmer and he retired from Carrier Corporation after 31 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a lover of animals.
Mr. Battle was preceded in death by his parents, Carr and Frances Battle; and his stepson, Donald Duane Clifton.
Emery is survived by his wife of 34 years, Pattie Lou Battle; 3 stepchildren, Tammy Lisa Clifton, Dawn Marie Hankey, and Odin Edward Clifton (Valerie); 8 grandchildren; 3 brothers, Calvin Battle, Tommy Battle, and Billy Battle; and his sister, Carrie Schaab.
