MORRISDALE - Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of Strange and Weaver Home for Funerals, Deer Creek Road, Morrisdale, for Joseph W. Beatty, 85, of Morrisdale RR, who died at 5 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 1999, at Knickerbocker Villa, Clearfield.
The Rev. Thomas Harmic will officiate. Interment will be at Palestine United Methodist Cemetery, Morrisdale.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Born June 28, 1913, in Morrisdale, he was a son of Harry and Blanche (Hoover) Beatty.
Mr. Beatty was a driller for Riverhill Coal Co. until his retirement. He attended Summit Hill United Methodist Church, Morrisdale RR.
On Oct. 22, 1938, he wed Esther I. (Crowell) Beatty, who preceded him in death on Oct. 23, 1992.
He is survived by two sons, Harry E. Beatty of Osceola Mills and Leroy W. Beatty of Morrisdale RR; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Tressa Shirey of Clearfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, Adilynn Dullen and Pauline Scott; and two brothers, Arnold and Harold.
