George Barnett, 87 Dies At Karnes City
George Barnett, last scion of a pioneer Wrightsboro family, died Monday at Karnes City where he had lived for the past several years with his three nephews and a niece. He was in his 88th year.
A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Barnett, he had engaged in the ranching business at Wrightsboro for many decades. However, he was married to Mrs. Mary Philgrim and lived also at Gonzales. His wife died more than 10 years ago.
Surviving him, besides his nephews and niece in Karnes City, are a step-daughter, Mrs. Baker Hoskins, and a cousin, Hart Barnett of Wrightsboro.
Masonic funeral services are to be conducted at 3 p.m., Tuesday at Wrightsboro, with burial at Wrightsboro cemetery.
