Daughter of W. L. Barnett and Elizabeth Walker. The following obituary was provided by Cindy S Munson:

Miss Ella Barnett died in San Antonio, January 16, 19, at the age of 84. Funeral services were held today, January 17, 1944, in San Antonio, at the McCollum-Murray Chapel, with Dr. A. V. Boand officiating.

Miss Ella Barnett lived in Wrightsboro for many years. Her family were very prominent people there. They were pioneers of this country. Her father was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. She was a woman of very strong character. She can be admired for her motherliness for, having never married, she took a child into her home for adoption and gave her every care a mother would have done.
She was a member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her brother G. W. Barnett; nephews , W. L. Jr., and R. L. Barnett, Jr., a niece Mrs. C. B. Hensley and foster daughter Mrs. E. D. Ward.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park, San Antonio.
