SERVICES HELD FOR FLOYD MCGUIRE ON TUESDAY, SEPT 7TH
Floyd McGuire, 67, died Friday, Sept. 4, in the Veterans hospital, Iowa City, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m., St. Paul Lutheran church. Rev. LaVerne Beener conducted the service. Interment was in Riverside cemetery. Goettsch Funeral home, Anamosa, was in charge of arrangements.
PALLBEARERS NAMED
Pallbearers included George Siebels, Alber Ament, Lou Yanda, Frank Michels, Alfred Snyder and Virgil VanKirk.
Music was provided by Mrs. M.W. Frederick, organist and Mrs. Maynard Bartels, soloist.
LIFE OUTLINED
He was born June 12, 1898, son of Tullis and Minnie Jackson, McGuire, Jones County. He was united in marriage to Dora Belling Sept. 17, 1940, Anamosa. Member of St. Paul Lutheran church and the American Legion, he farmed in Jones County until 1959, when he moved to Anamosa and worked at Iowa manufacturing until his retirement in 1963.
SURVIVORS LISTED
He is survived by his wife, Dora; mother, Mrs. Minnie McGuire; five brothers, Willis, Stanwood; Arthur and Louis, Olin; Milton and Clifford, Anamosa; two sisters, Miss Clara McGuire, Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Wilma Paulsen, Olin.
He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and one sister.
