Eugene H. "Gene" Brewster

"Gene" passed away peacefully, Saturday June 16, 2012 at his home in Bangor Township surrounded by his family that loved him dearly. He was born February 20, 1940, in Flint Michigan, to the late Henry and Irene (Elzinga/Elsinger) Brewster.
He retired from Carbone of America after 30 plus years of dedicated service. Everyone knew Gene as a "Jack of All Trades" (and master of many). He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. Gene touched the lives of many people with his smile, generosity, kindness and wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years Julie and their two children, Jeanna and Matthew Brewster. Also surviving are his sons John (Irma), Richard (Shana), James (Stephanie) Eugene Jr. and daughter Kimberly Brewster; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; his siblings, Henry (Roberta) Brewster, Mary (Earl) Urbanke, Rhonda Becker, Craige Brewster, Vickie (Dennis) Goddard, Derrick (Marian) Brewster, Wayde Brewster, Danae Brewster, Wayne (Peggy) Brewster; sister-in-law Margaret Brewster; Shelley Harvey whom he loved like a sister; and many nieces and nephews. Gene was predeceased by his sister Debra and brother Lance Brewster. In honor of Gene's wishes, no funeral services are planned and a celebration of life has already taken place. Arrangements made with Cremation Society of Mid Michigan 888-273-3553

Arrangements were made through Hyatt Ewald Funeral Home Inc., 700 N. Monroe St., Bay City, MI

The celebration was at the Grand Banquet & Conference Center 660 West Hampton Road Essexville, MI 48732 on Wednesday June 20, 2012

Prayer Card | God Saw You

God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and whispered "Come to me". With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we love you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

I miss you so much!
