Mrs. Maria Hartmann, 70, wife of Peter Hartmann Sr., of 1321 N 4th St., passed away Tuesday at St. Nicholas Hospital after a brief illness.
Nee, Zitzer, she was born 9 June 1882 in Schulz, Russia, the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Fred Zitzer. She was married in the old country to Peter Hartmann and after a year in South America, they migrated to the United States. They came to Sheboygan in 1904. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of this city.
Survivors include her husband, four sons, Fred of South Bend, Indiana,Peter and John of Sheboygan, and David of Seattle, WA.; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Emma) Conrad and Mrs. William (Emily) Brom, both of Sheboygan; and 13 grandchildren.
Her parents and two children, Carl and Marie, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Ballhorn Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Carl Schultz of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate and burial will be in the family plot in the Lutheran Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the funeral home from Friday morning until the hour of services on Saturday.
