Emily Brom, age 88 years, of 1605 South 23rd Street, died Saturday, December 13, 1997 at Heritage Nursing Home where she had been a patient for the past month.
She was born June 5, 1911 in Sheboygan to Peter and Maria Hartmann.
Emily married Lester August Matthies on March 23, 1929 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheboygan. They divorced on April 21, 1938
Emily and William Brom were united in marriage April 29, 1939 in Sheboygan. William preceded her in death on November 15, 1981. Emily was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Also preceding Emily in death were six brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Emily was held at 11am Tuesday, December 16, 1997 at Ramm-Ziegler-Novak-Rettke Funeral Home, South side Chapel. Rev. Martinho Sander, Pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiated. Burial took place in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund was established in Emily's name for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
