MRS. CHAS. W. LAWHEAD
Mrs. Rara Avis Dressler Lawhead, wife of Charles W. Lawhead, died at the Clearfield Hospital Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 2:45 a.m. following an operation performed after an illness of two months.

She was the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Mariah Dressler and was born in Pike Township July 12, 1874, making her age 64 years, 2 months and 1 day.

Mrs. Lawhead was a member of the Methodist Church, the Susquehanna Grange, active in both until her health failed. She also served 12 years as a member of the Pike Township School Board.

She was known in her community for attention given the sick and others in need and will be missed for her words of comfort and kindly deeds.

Besides her husband she is survived by the following children: Theodore E. Pike Township; Mrs. Ruth Thomas, Rockton; Mrs. Esther Hummel and Mrs. Annabel Bell, Hyde; Mrs. Isabel Sellman, Pittsburgh, Mrs. Genevieve Clouser, Curwensville; Mrs. Muriel Nelson, Pike Township; Mrs.Dorothy Gross, Santa Monica, Cal. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren. She was the last member of the Dressler family, a sister, Mrs. Seymore Michaels of Kerrmoor, having died May 31 this year.

Short services were held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hummel, at Hyde, Tuesday afternoon, September 15, with final rites at the Centre M. E. Church, with Rev. Walter Byers officiating.

Interment was made in Centre Cemetery.
