Rev. James Balch, 73, retired pastor of the First Baptist Church for 31 years died at his home.

Services were held at the First Baptist Church with Rev. W.R. Karkalits, pastor, Rev. John E. Lewis, former pastor and S.F. Martin, Wichita Falls District missionary officiating.

Survived by his wife; four sons - Dr. E.H. Balch, Judson Balch, L.F. Balch, J.B. Balch; two brothers - Ed and Fred Balch; five sisters - Mrs. Minnie Edwards, Mrs. W.R. Bradford, Mrs. Al Yarbrough, Mrs. Dewie Gardner; 18 grandchildren; two nieces - Mrs. Evans Holmes of Chile and Mrs. James Snyder - the two nieces were raised by Mr. and Mrs. Balch.
