Bernice Boslaugh

A memorial celebration of life will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. July 8 at Lamb Cottage at Skinner Butte Park in Eugene for Bernice Boslaugh of Eugene, who died June 10 of kidney failure. She was 96.

She was born June 11, 1915, in Dorena to John and Marguerite Spong Mosby. She married Ralph Boslaugh on Sept. 8, 1936, in Cottage Grove. He died in March 1962.

She graduated from Cottage Grove High School in 1932 and held an associate degree from Lane Community College. She worked as a telephone operator and as a school secretary, worked in retail sales and retired from the University of Oregon housing department.

Survivors include two sons, Bill of Eugene and Alan of Springfield; a daughter, Ann Brightwell of Bandon; a brother, Jerry Mosby of Pendleton; a sister, Leta Boslaugh of Cottage Grove; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Private burial will be at Shields Cemetery in Cottage Grove. Arrangements by Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Eugene Mission.
