Robert Gerald “Jerry” Mosby, died June 2, 2015 at age 92 in his home in Pendleton Oregon. Jerry was the youngest child of John Burr Mosby and Marguerite Spong. He was born in Dorena Oregon July 23, 1922. All of his older brothers worked at saw mills. Jerry was the only one to attend college. He had a bachelor and master degrees from University of Oregon and proudly wore his U of O basketball letterman’s ring.

Jerry was a coach, athletic director and department head at Blue Mountain Community college from 1963 to 1987. He had the seldom achieved milestone of 600 career basketball coaching wins. Prior to Blue Mountain, Jerry taught at Astoria, Lakeview, Eagle Point, and Newport high schools.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruby Loa Carlos. His children, Susan Stevens, Joyce Mosby, Jan Mosby, Tom Mosby, Loa Mize, and Eileen Hendricks. He has 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be June 9 at 11am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 609 NW 12th Street, Pendleton. Viewing will be prior from 10am to 10:45 at the church. He will be buried at Shields Cemetery in Cottage Grove Oregon at 11am June 10.
