Adell Poulsen Overly, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away in Salt Lake City June 13, 2012. She was born November 1, 1920 in Providence, Utah, the only child of Soren C. and Bertha Wahl Poulsen. Following her graduation from Logan High School she and her mother moved to Salt Lake City. There, Adell attended and graduated from L.D.S. Business College.
Adell married John William (Bill) Overly in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple June 20, 1947. They were blessed with five lovely and talented daughters. Bill and Adell enjoyed music, dancing, traveling and their family. They served together in the England Manchester Mission in 1984 and 1985. Bill died August 16, 2000.
Adell was a faithful and active member of the L.D.S. Church and enjoyed serving in numerous Ward and Stake Callings, as well as many years in various school P.T.A.'s. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved each one dearly and was an enthusiastic supporter of their many activities and accomplishments. Family events were major highlights in her life.
She is survived by her cherished daughters and their spouses, Anita (Larry) Quibell, Bonnie (Gregory) Miller, Julene (Larry) Maddocks, Marge (Russell) Dalton, and Linda Pace. She was the proud grandmother of nineteen wonderful grandchildren and thirty-four adorable great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday June 18, 2012 at the Gregson Ward Chapel, 3153 South 900 East in Salt Lake City. Family and friends will be welcomed at a visitation Sunday June 17th at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, from 6 to 8 PM, and at the ward house on Monday from 9:45 to 10:45 AM.
Interment at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South.
