Mrs. McEveney, mother of John T. McEveney died after a lingering illness at her late residence in this city Monday, March 7, 1904, at 10 o'clock in the evening, aged 82 years. The remains were conveyed to David City on Wednesday (yesterday) and the funeral service was conducted at St. Mary's Catholic Church in that city, Rev. Father Carrahar, officiating, and the body was laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery, beside her husband who preceded her to the other world more than twenty years ago.

Deceased leaves two daughters, one of whom lives in Ulysses, Nebr., the other being a resident of Hancock county, Illinois, and one son, John T., who has been caring for his mother ever since the death of his father, all of whom were present at the funeral. Two sons have preceded the mother to the other shore - Edward in 1899, and Henry in December 1903.

The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire community.
