Arlene Ruth (Ableson) Kongs, of Oklahoma City, passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness on September 28, 2005 in Oklahoma City, Ok. Born on March 24, 1927 to Charles and Violet Ableson in Iola Ks., Arlene graduated from Kansas State University with a BS in Biological Science and received a Master of Education from Central State University, Edmond, Ok. During her twenty eight years of employment at the Baptist Memorial Hospital of Oklahoma City, Arlene served as the Education Coordinator and Medical Technology Program Director. Arlene's diligent work, with assistance from Medical Professionals and Hospital Administration, sought and achieved accreditation for the Medical Technology Program at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Clarence H. Kongs and is survived by one sister, Madelyn Cox of Marshall Mo., one daughter, Karin Kinzie and husband Jack of Dallas Tx, three sons Christopher A. Kongs and wife Linda, Charles H. Kongs and Lisa Kongs, Edward J. Kongs and wife Wendy, grandchildren Sydney and Stephen of Dallas Tx., Lucas, Amy, Clark, Katie, Rebecca, Alexander and Emma of Oklahoma City and numerous nieces and nephews. Rite of Christian Burial will be at Christ the King Church, 8005 Dorset Dr., Oklahoma City, Wednesday, October 5, at 11:00 A.M. with reception following. The family wishes to give special thanks to Jenette, Veda and Amber. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Oklahoma County.
