Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2022, at the First Christian Church in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Cremation will follow and private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Crossroads Hospice in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born January 24, 1930, in Iola, KS, she was the daughter of the late Charles Ableson and Violet Stevenson Ableson. She earned a Bachelor's degree from K-State in Manhattan, KS. On October 7, 1956, in Iola, KS, she married James A. Cox who preceded her in death on January 13, 1998. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she served as an elder, and was a member of the choir and bell choir. She was a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood, loved to play bridge and travel, floated the Snake River at the age of 86, traveled to Africa with Danny on a hunting trip, visited Rome, Alaska and Mexico with her friends and attended the Country Music Festival in Tennessee. She was very proud of being a K-State graduate, watched K-State football and kept up with K-State standings. She also loved the Chiefs and all sports.
Survivors include one son, two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Arlene Kong.
