Michael "Mike" Edward Lee, 56, of 2322 New House Rd. in Shelby died June 12, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

Born in Cleveland County on January 14, 1956, he was the son of Rev. Edward Daves Lee and Vera Mae Baldwin Lee.

He was a graduate of Alexander Central High School; attended N.C. State University for two years; and graduated from Western North Carolina University. He was an avid Wolfpack fan and Cleveland Browns football fan. He loved the outdoors where he would camp, hike, and fish. He also loved rock music, "The Louder the Better." He was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. He was employed by Firestone Fibers and Textiles in Kings Mountain, working in the treatment and reroll department.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Yates & Evelyn Lee and Claude & Grace Baldwin.

In addition to his father, survivors include his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Teresa & Kenneth Olsen of Shelby, Susan & Scott Morgan of Kernersville, and three much loved nieces, Laura Olsen Guraedy and husband Jason, Jessica Morgan, and Kirby Morgan.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Polkville United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Polkville United Methodist Church with the Revs. Bill Lovelace, Loy Kennedy, and Mike Duncan officiating.

Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
