Mrs. Laura Blanch Power, 52, whose five sons are serving in the Army and four of whom are overseas, died yesterday at 5 p.m. at her home here following a short illness.
Mrs. Power was the wife of Fred N. Power. She had resided her entire life in Beallsville, and raised a family of six girls and five sons in service.
She was born in Beallsville March 20, 1892, a daughter of the late Minnie and Richard Hickman.
Mrs. Power was a member of the Beallsville Presbyterian Church.
Besides her husband, Fred N. Power, she leaves the following daughters; Mrs. Edith Rankin, Windber; Mrs. Mabel Markovich, California; Mrs. Margaret D. Galeska, California; Mrs. Elaine Banko, and Blanch and Laura Power, at home; five sons, Pvt. Ralph E., in England; T.5 Neal, in England; S/Sgt Norman C., in Germany; Pvt Nick, Camp Blanding, Fla., and Pvt Denton, overseas; three sisters and four brothers survive; Mrs. Nora Stambaugh, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Edna Bedford, Washington; Mrs. Hope McBurney, Long Island, N.Y.; Vance S. Hickman, and Norman J. Hickman, Beallsville; Harry R. Hickman, Florida, and Allen Hickman, Marianna. Two brothers, Charles and Walter Hickman, are deceased. Walter Hickman preceded his sister in death by only two months.
