The son of Abner Abbee and Sarah Swetland, Adolphus Abbee was married to Harriet Chipman who was born July 14, 1799. Harriet was the daughter of Dr. Cyrus Chipman and Anna Fitch.

Adolphus Abbee served in the War of 1812 as a Private in Capt. E. Scott's Company, Lieut. Col. Enos Foot's Regiment of the Massachusetts Militia.

On June 17, 1822, he purchased 80 acres in Troy township, section 9, E ½ SE ¼.

On March 3, 1827, he was appointed a guardian as he was judged incompetent; his guardian was Ira Jennings. He died intestate (probate record dated 15 Dec 1829). His widow, Harriet Abbee, and Jess Gregory were the administrators.
