Squirrel's note: Engel Sophie Marie Eleanore (Borchers) Moeglein is my great, great grandmother.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Engel Sophie Marie Eleanore Borchers was born in the village of Stroit, near Einbeck, in the former Duchy of Braunsweig, Germany, daughter of Heinrich Christian Borchers. In early 1851, she and some of her brothers traveled to America and she settled in Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, where she met and married Johann Joseph Moeglein 16 Dec 1851. Joseph was killed in a tragic accident in 1867, and the following year, Sophia remarried John Reising 26 Oct 1868 in Dane County, WI. This marriage didn't last very long, and she soon went back to the name Moeglein.

In 1890, Sophia relocated to Minnesota, and settled in Minneapolis in 1891. She passed away 31 Mar 1899.
