Alva E. Huffman, 89, of 118 Beulah Avenue, died at 7:15 o'clock last night at the Wells Rest Home following a lingering illness. Mr. Huffman was a carpenter for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad for 31 years, retiring in 1928. He was born February 22, 1863, near Sonora. His wife Emma died in December 1942. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. W. J. Schneider of Beulah Avenue; two sons, Ray of Putnam Avenue, and Roy Huffman of Wooster; one brother, Kelly Huffman, of Sonora; five sisters, Mrs. Minnie Jones of Sonora, Mrs. Ida White, Mrs Harry Weaver and Mrs Eva Gibbons and Mrs. Ella Dooley, all of Zanesville; six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Clifford Caverlee of the Market Street Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood. Mr Huffman, a carpenter for the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad for 31 years, died last night at the Wells Rest Home, following a lingering illness. He retired in 1942. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. W. J. Schneider, of the Beulah Avenue address; two sons, Ray Huffman of Putnam Avenue and Roy Huffman of Wooster; a brother Kelly Huffman of Sonora; five sisters, Mrs. Minnie Jones of Sonora, Mrs. Ida White, Mrs. Harry Weaver, Mrs. Eva Gibbons, and Mrs Ella Dooley, all of Zanesville; six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
