John Matheny, Jr. is the son of John Matheny, Sr. and Elizabeth McSwain Matheny. He married Elizabeth Hamrick. They had many children (~16). Five sons and two sons-in-law were killed in the Civil War. John was a member of Sandy Run Baptist Church. He lived to the age of 79.
