DROWNED – Condy McCole, son of Mr. Patrick McCole, who resided five miles north of this village, was drowned in the Oconto River, a few weeks since. He was driving logs and not being used to so rapid a stream as the Oconto, the log he was riding became unmanageable and he fell off. For some time he tried to regain his position, being unable to do so, he tried to swim ashore, but his strength being exhausted, he sank when within a few feet of the shore. He was a fine young man and is deeply regretted by all who knew him and his friends have the sympathy of the entire community. His remains were brought home last week and were buried on Monday.
