Mrs. Helen Heaven; Cook for Home Savings & Loan
New Middletown – Mrs. Helen Heaven, 74, of 33 Circleview Drive, formerly of Austintown, died of cancer this morning in Ron Joy Nursing Home, where she had been a resident six days.
Mrs. Heaven was born June 24, 1914, in Youngstown, a daughter of Nicholas and Kathryn Augustyne Hobocock (note: this should be Hobock) , moved to Austintown in 1967 from Coitsville, and moved to New Middletown last July. She worked for the Home Savings & Loan Co. as a cook for the past eight years and she was a member of the Coitsville Presbyterian Church.
Her husband Ralph E., whom she married July 10 1934 died September 30 1976.
She leaves two sons, James of new Middleton and Raymond of Austintown, six grandchildren and a great-grandson. A son, Robert, is deceased.
Services will be at 10am Saturday at Kelly & Sons Funeral Home, Hubbard, where friends may call from 2-4 and from 7-9pm Friday.
Note: Helen was placed in foster care with family friends at age 2 after the death of her mother. Her father Nick Holodiuk (Hobock) remarried but still did not care for Helen. They had a strained relationship.
