Mrs. Ida Melzner, 89, of New Wetern Manor Nursing Home, died Sunday. Cause of death was not released.
She was born June 12, 1880, in Wabasha County, Minn., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Apple. She was married to Arthur D. Melzner in 1909 in Butte. She taught school there.
The couple also lived in California and Washington, D.C., and moved to Billings in 1948, where Mr. Melzner was an attorney for the Department of Interior. He died Jan. 16, 1969.
Mrs. Melzner was a member of the First Congregational Church and the Federal Employe Wives Association.
Survivors include a sister, Amanda Strasburger, and a nephew, Rodman Strasburger, both of Seattle, Wash.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Settergren-Carey Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. John McClelland of First Congregational Church officiating. Burial will be in the Billings Community Mausoleum.
