Ella (Clemmens) Jenkins was born June 30, 1872 in Amazonia, Mo., daughter of Andrew and Sarah Clemmens. Ella's father was the owner-operator of a general store in Amazonia. He also had a farm in the area. Ella married Benjamin Potter Jenkins in 1894. Benjamin & Ella had five children,

They started their married life in Andrew Co., Savannah, Mo., later moving to St. Joseph, Mo. In 1907 they moved to Bedford, Iowa, and returned to St. Joseph, Mo. sometime after 1910. They lived at 315 Harvard Street, later moved to 1801 Jones street until Benjamin's death July 20, 1933. Ben was employed by the st. Joseph stockyards co. At the end of WWII, Ella left St. Joseph to live with her daughter Ethel, in Macon, Ga. Ella passed away January 17, 1949, in Macon, Ga.
