OLIN – Mrs. Sallie Elizabeth Cope Hendrix, 94, of Eupeptic Springs Road, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Wake Forest Baptist Health – Davie Hospital in Mocksville. She was born April 26, 1918, in Davie County, to the late Walter Leon and Hattie Rosetta Smith Cope. Mrs. Hendrix was a member of Mt. Vernon First Baptist Church in Olin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Pink Hendrix in 2006; a son, Tony M. Hendrix; four sisters, Hazel C. Smith, Mary C. Hendrix, Dorothy C. Ellis and Betty C. Doss; and three brothers, Aldene,David and Eugene Cope. Survivors include four children, Linda H. Harris (Bennie) of Winston-Salem, Mary H. Evans of Mocksville, James Hendrix (Debbie) and Earl D. Hendrix (Crystal), all of Olin; a sister, Arlene Smith of Advance; two brothers, Willie Cope of Advance and W. L. Cope of Clemmons; a sister-in-law, Hattie Mae McCulloh of Advance; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 2, at Eaton Funeral Chapel, Mocksville with the Rev. Jeff Carter and the Rev. Glen Dancy officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Moravian Church Graveyard in Advance. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service. The family requests that memorials be considered for Macedonia Moravian Church, Advance, NC 27006; or Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 145 Mt. Vernon Church Road, Olin, NC 28660.
