Mary Belle Cope Hendrix March 2, 1923 - Dec. 29, 2011 Mrs. Mary Belle Cope Hendrix cast aside the burdens of this world and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 29, 2011. Mary was born on March 2, 1923 to Walter L. And Hattie Smith Cope, the fifth of eleven children. She was a life-long member of Macedonia Moravian Church. She was married to Roy Vestal Hendrix who preceded her in death in 1986. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald R. Hendrix in 1995. Mrs. Hendrix is survived by a son, Donald Hendrix and wife Rhonda of Advance; two daughters, Brenda Hendrix of Advance, and Glenda Vandiver and husband Michael of Winston-Salem; three grandchildren, R. David Hendrix, R. Lee Hendrix, and Melissa Price; six great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Linda Hendrix Foltz; two sisters, Arlene Douthit and Elizabeth Hendrix; two brothers, Willie Cope and wife Marie, and W.L. Cope and wife Eunice; and a sister-in-law Hattie Mae McCulloh. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Moravian Church Graveyard. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
