Fourth child to the fourth and last Territorial Governor, the first Arkansas United States Senator and wife, his first cousin.
His paternal grandparents were Irishman David Fulton and wife Elizabeth Savin, married 23 JUL 1794 in Cecil county, Maryland. David was 2nd Mayor of Little Rock in 1835, a Judge in 1836-38 and appointed "Surveyor General of Public Lands in Arkansas" by President Martin Van Buren in 1838, died 1843.
Namesake, father's, friend President Andrew Jackson.
Took ill when father and mother went to Fort Gibson in 1835 leaving other children with his grandfather, taking he and infant sister, Matilda Frances who also died. Mother also ill, father delayed return to Arkansas due to health of wife.
