Calvin Blackwood, also lovingly called "Cap", died at the age of 67. He was a recent resident of Monticello, Arkansas. He was a retired carpenter and a former resident of Pickens, Arkansas.

Calvin died at the Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

He was born in Briggsville, Arkansas (Yell County) on April 30, 1919, he was a son of Tom and Charity Spears Blackwood. He worked for the R. A. Pickens & Son Company before retiring and moving to Monticello, Arkansas in 1984.

He was a baptist by faith.

Survivors at the time of his death include his wife, Orpah Hill Blackwood; five daughters, Pat Fleming and Reba Mitchell, both of Monticello, Peggy Stain of Pine Bluff, Rose Stain of Dumas and Linda Hauck of Newton, Kansas; two brothers, J. D. Geiber of Blufton and Glen Geiber of Willits, California; three sisters, Rose Buford of Gaston, Alabama, and Jessie Weinhold and Jean Taylor, both of Willits, CA.; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

His funeral was at Monticello with Reverend Carter Tucker officiating the service with Griffin Funeral Home handling arrangements.

His interment was at Walnut Lake Cemetery in Pickens, Arkansas.
