Mother: Lucinda Sumner
Spouse: Thomas Jasper 'Jap' Davis
Children: Texiana Davis, July Davis, Thomas Theodore Davis, Lucinda 'Lula' Davis Toney, Jefferson Davis, Elvina Davis Hunter

The last two lines verify the fact that Mary Moore Davis was, indeed, buried at the Pisgah Church Cemetery although the exact location of her grave has not been identified.
"On Monday morning, about daylight,
Davis came to the house of his nephew,
Mr. Dave Owens, near Piercetown, and
asked Mr. Owens to protect him from the
enraged citizens. Mr. Owens sent for Mr.
M. B. Williams, Jr., and together they
brought Davis to the city and turned him
over to the Sheriff. Rumors reached the
city Tuesday that the prisoner would be
taken from the jail and lynched. Sheriff
Bolt was determined to protect the prisoner,
and, after conferring with the Solicitor and
Other officials, he sent him away to a place
of safety for a few days. Messrs. Prince &
Vandiver have been employed as counsel
for the prisoner.
There is no doubt as to the guilt of the
prisoner. In fact, he does not deny the
crime, but refuses to talk about it.
The murdered woman was buried at Pisgah Church on Sunday. Four of her five children are under twelve years of age."
