Dean Mack Bell, age 82, of 1590 Hill Crossing Court, Grayson, Georgia, and formerly of Sparta, died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at his home. He was the son of the late, Hardin and Nannie Myrtle McCoin Bell. He is survived by his wife, Gertrude "Trude" Lockhart Bell of the home; two daughters, Nancy Puckett of Grayson, GA, Gloria Belcher and her husband, Dewey of Snellville, GA; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Darlene Herron of Rankin, TX, Jean Combs of Aberdeen, MD, Georgia Higgins of Sparta; three brothers, Hurley Bell of Ontario, CA, Roy Bell and his wife, Claudette, of Sparta, Walter Bell of Sparta; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 26th at the Grandview Memorial Chapel in Sparta. Burial will follow in the Sparta Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions are made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 7560 East Independence Blvd, Suite 120, Charlotte, NC 28227, or the Arthritis Foundation, 4530 Park Road, Suite 230, Charlotte, NC. 28209.
