Phillip Welhelm, 70, eldest son of Conrad and Elizabeth Wilhelm, was born September 29, 1891 in Saarodof, Russia and died October 3, 1961 at the Veterans Hospital in Wichita. He came with his parents to America when he was eight years of age. The family settled on a farm south of Rush Center where he grew to manhood. He served in WWI and was in the battles of St. Mihiel, Argonne and a number of others. He was united in marriage to Esther Yost, Alexander. Burial in LaCrosse Cemetery.
