Mr. Simon DeLeon, 89, of Center Point, Texas, passed away Friday, November 7, 2008, at his residence.
He was born on July 3, 1918, in Donna, Texas, to Estaben Deleon and Antonia Alcala DeLeon. He was a retired ranch foreman and a member of Notre Dame Catholic Church.
He married Charlota Aguilar on October 22, 1935, in Robstown, Texas.
She preceded him in death on May 1, 1998. He also was preceded in death by one son, Mike DeLeon in January of 1986.
Survivors include four daughters, Antonia DeLeon and Mary Cervantes (Enrique), all of Center Point, Margie Jeffers (Lynn) of Castroville, Texas, and Janie Smith (Bob) of Aransas Pass, Texas; six sons, Robert DeLeon (Sherry) of Medina, Texas. Steve DeLeon (Olga) and Charlie DeLeon (Ecee), all of Kerrville, Rene DeLeon (Rose) of Kingsville, Texas, and Roy DeLeon and Danny DeLeon, both of Center Point; 34 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
A rosary for Mr. DeLeon was recited on Monday, November 10, 2008, at 6 pm at Grimes Funeral Chapels, with Deacon Charles Dominguez.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at 1:30 pm at Notre Dame Catholic Church, with Father Mike Peinemann as celebrant. Interment will follow in Center Point Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
