OBITUARY--TONEY

Mahala Toney (nee Cox) was born January 7, 1863, in Monroe county, Ohio and in early childhood went with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Cox to Richland county Wisconsin. On the 15th day of October, 1882, she was united in marriage to Cassius M. Toney. To this union were born four boys and one girl: Charles Toney, of Goodland, Kansas, Doffie Toney of Muskeegan, Michigan, Ray Toney of Los Angeles, California and Lyall Toney of Goodland. The daughter died in infancy. Mrs. Toney came from Wisconsin March 18, 1913 and has made her home with her son Charles since that time. Mrs. Toney united with the Christian church at West Fork, Crawford county, Wisconsin about 25 years ago. Beside the children she leaves to mourn her loss four brothers and two sisters, and was preceded by a sister on March 20, 1920. The brothers are: John and Robert of Vancouver, Washington, J. W. Cox of Great Bend, Kansas, Charles Cox and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Craig and Mrs. Sarah Burnes, all live at Excelsior, Wisconsin, where also the third, Mrs. Jessie Wilson lived at the time of her death 2 months ago. Mrs. Toney departed this life, May 27, 1920 at 10:30 p.m. The funeral services were in charge of Rev. Luther Moore and burial made in the cemetery north of town.
