Dr. Robert Morris, of Philadelphia, married first, 27 May, 1836, his cousin, Caroline, daughter of Henry and Maria (Morris) Nixon, who died in 1837. He married secondly, 1 June, 1854, his cousin, Lucy Pickett, daughter of Robert Morris Marshall, of Fauquier County, Va.

Son of Robert Morris, Jr., b. 19 Dec. 1769 [son of Robert Morris 1734-1806]. Married 5 May, 1796, Anna Shoemaker (1777-1865), daughter of Benjamin Shoemaker.
Anna Shoemaker, married Robert Morris, the son of the Treasurer of the Revolution, from whom are descended the Morris family of that line in Philadelphia.

ISSUE (surnamed Morris)—First Marriage:
1.Robert, born March 13, 1837; died in Libby Prison Aug. 13, 1863, as major 6th Pennsylvania Cavalry; married Jan. 19, 1860, Ellen Markoe Wharton, daughter of George M. Wharton, of the Philadelphia bar, born Jan. 18, 1837, died Dec. 31, 1908. She married, secondly, George Mifflin Dallas, judge in U. S. Circuit Court, Oct. 22, 1867.

ISSUE (surnamed Morris)—Second Marriage:
2. Henry, born June 6, 1855; graduated M.D. Jefferson College; married Oct. 12, 1880, Bessie Thomas Elliott.
3. James Markham, born Feb. 21, 1858; d. y. Dec. 23, 1864.
4. Anna, born Nov. 11, 1859; married Jan. 14, 1892, James Alfred Marye, of Virginia, born Nov. 12, 1847, son of James Braxton Marye and Jane Christian Jett. No issue.
5. Susan Marshall, born Nov. 26, 1860; married John Tyler, Jr., of Richmond, Va., Nov. 20, 1889.
6. Lucy Marshall, born March 24, 1866, Philadelphia; married Richard P. Tinsley, of Virginia, June 10, 1896, Philadelphia, born Aug. 10, 1867, York Co., Va., assistant comptroller Standard Oil Co., son of Alex. Tinsley and Mary Dare Panan. No issue.
