Louis Halbert Larson was born on a farm in Hendricks, Minnesota on April 12, 1919 one of five children of Caleb Francis Larson and Ruth Nonio Hansen.
He was a graduate of University of Minnesota School of Civil Engineering, class of 1939. As a civil engineer, he served in World War II as Ensign, Civil Engineering Corps, USNR, and was assigned to the 144th Naval Construction Battalion in the South Pacific. He worked for the Civil Aeronautics Authority and other engineering jobs in a variety of states including Illinois, New York, Hawaii, Oklahoma and California.
His first marriage was to Georgie Mae Dunning (b. 4/24/20 - 1998). They had one child together, Diane Louise b. 7/5/1943.
He married Carol Rose Collura in Peoria, IL on April 27, 1947. They had six children together: Kathleen Patricia (Kathy) b. 12/15/47 - d. 5/7/2015, Jeanne Nanette b. 3/6/50, Michael Carlo (Mike) b. 5/13/51 - d. 1/16/86 , Christine Rosemary (Kiki) b. 6/11/55, Melissa Carol (Missy) b. 12/4/56 and Candace Celia (Candy) b. 10/12/65.
