Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Grace United Methodist Church in Hendricks. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 pm at the Hendricks Hospital Chapel with prayer service at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday one hour prior at the church. Pastor Darrell Boe will officiate. Burial will be in Hendricks City Cemetery.
Judy was born October 11, 1916 in Hendricks, the daughter of Caleb & Ruth (Hansen) Larson. She graduated from Hendricks High School in 1936. She continued her education at the Minneapolis School of Business and was employed as a secretary at a tailoring company in Minneapolis and for Lincoln County in Ivanhoe, MN.
On March 16, 1940, Judy married Harold Stegner. They both were reared on farms and they made farming their occupation after their marriage. They raised five children and retired to Hendricks in 1979.
As a youth, Judy was an athlete, lettering in track, playing basketball and a catcher for kitten ball. She enjoyed raising her children and supported them in their many activities. In her retirement years, she was an avid reader, and embroiderer. Through out her adult life, she always had a crossword puzzle to work on. Judy was an active member of New Grove EUB, subsequently Grace United Methodist. She enjoyed being a member of the women's organizations of both churches and served in several offices.
Judy is survived by her son, Harley (Linda); daughter, Eileen (Donald) Buller; daughter-in-law, Edith Stegner; son, John (Deborah); daughter, Adele (Jim) Krans; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
She was preceded by her parents; husband; son, Eugene; brothers, Louis Larson and Blaine Larson; sister, Rena Larson.
