Obituary.
Mrs. Elisa Maria Meurant Isbeque passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. Chas. Burkhart on Thursday evening Nov. 14, 1929, at 9 o'clock after a short illness. Her husband preceded her in death five years ago and her daughter Flora eleven years ago.
Mrs. Isbeque was born in Jeurnont, France, on July 17, 1851, and at the time of her death was 78 years, 3 months and 27 days old. She was united in marriage to Victor Isbeque in Colleret, Belgium, on Nov. 10, 1873, and were companions for nearly 51 years. Mr. and Mrs. Isbeque with four small children arrived in Macon from France on the first day of May, 1884, making Macon their home.
She is survived by five children, V. A. and O. H. Isbeque, Mrs. Rachel Sulhoff, Mrs. John L. Kitchen and Mrs. Chas. Burkhart. There are also 13 grandchildren.
Mrs. Isbeque was a kind and affectionate wife and mother and was loved by her friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home of Chas. Burkhart, conducted by Rev. P. H. Case, pastor of the Presbyterian church. Burial was made in Woodlawn cemetery.
