Marjorie Courtney, 78, of Sullivan, Indiana passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Miller's Merry Manor in Sullivan, Indiana.
She was born on September 10, 1933 in Fairbanks, Indiana the daughter of Guy and Agnes (Cushman) Phillips. Marjorie graduated from high school and worked as the department head and sales clerk at Root's Department Store. She was an active member of the First Christian Church in Sullivan, Indiana and the Alpha Delphian Club.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers; Wilbur, Durward, John T., and Lawrence Phillips, and two sisters; Aleana Fitzgerald and Theta E. Nowlin.
Survivors include her son Scot Andrew (Angela) Courtney of Indianapolis, Indiana and two grandchildren; Grant Courtney & Keenan Courtney.
Funeral services will be at 11:00AM, Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Banks and Brust Funeral Home in Sullivan, Indiana with Rev. David Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Center Ridge Cemetery located in Sullivan, Indiana with Pastor Larry Kimmell to officiate the committal service. Friends may call from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Banks and Brust Funeral Home.
In lieu of the flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the First Christian Church of Sullivan, Indiana or the American Heart Association.
