GREENVILLE ­ Lawrence Clinton Phillips, 79, of Greenville, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born May 5, 1924, in Fairbanks, Ind., he retired from American Oil Company as a Nationwide Oil and Gas Distributor after working 33 years. He was also a member of the First Assembly of God in Greenville and was a military veteran having served in the US Army.
He is survived by wife, Mary Nell Gregory Phillips; three daughters, Kimberly Rose Stawicki of Houston, Texas; Patricia Nell Krug of Lake Village, Ind. and Diana Lee Doup of Hammond, Ind.; a son, Larry J. Gregory of Chesterton, Ind.; one sister, Marjorie Courtney of Sullivan, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; 12 great ­ grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday Sept. 2 at Tucker Funeral Home. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Powerdly.
