GREENVILLE Lawrence Clinton Phillips, 79, of Greenville, died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003, at the Muhlenberg Community Hospital.
Born May 5, 1924, in Fairbanks, Ind., he retired from American Oil Company as a Nationwide Oil and Gas Distributor after working 33 years. He was also a member of the First Assembly of God in Greenville and was a military veteran having served in the US Army.
He is survived by wife, Mary Nell Gregory Phillips; three daughters, Kimberly Rose Stawicki of Houston, Texas; Patricia Nell Krug of Lake Village, Ind. and Diana Lee Doup of Hammond, Ind.; a son, Larry J. Gregory of Chesterton, Ind.; one sister, Marjorie Courtney of Sullivan, Ind.; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday Sept. 2 at Tucker Funeral Home. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Powerdly.
