Other researchers are attaching "Benjamin" as a middle name for Sam but that can't be right. His parents had a child they named Benjamin in 1862 so it doesn't make sense, since Sam was still living, to name another child Benjamin. I have seen no record with a middle name or initial for this Samuel ECHOLS.
